PODER Action Alliance, a newly established 501(c)(4) organization, is proud to announce its statewide launch, building on the foundation of PODER, Oregon’s Latino Leadership Network. As an advocacy-driven organization, PODER Action Alliance is dedicated to advancing the social, economic, and civic well-being of Latino communities across Oregon by tackling the issues that matter most—healthcare, higher education, immigration, and economic opportunity.
“Latinos are the backbone of Oregon’s economy and cultural landscape, yet systemic barriers continue to hinder access to equitable opportunities,” said Jaime Rodriguez, Board Member of PODER. “Our community is diverse and powerful, spanning from rural farmworkers to urban professionals in leadership roles. We are not just advocating for Latinos—we are Latinos who have ascended into positions of influence in both the private and public sectors, driving change from within.”
Latinos in Oregon are thriving and leading in various sectors, yet there is still work to be done to ensure equal opportunities for all. PODER Action Alliance seeks to amplify the successes of Latino business owners, our workforce, educators, healthcare professionals, public officials and more, while advocating for systemic changes that benefit the entire community. Key focus areas include:
Economic Empowerment – Supporting Latino-owned businesses and entrepreneurs to drive economic growth.
Leadership Development – Expanding opportunities for Latinos in influential roles across industries.
Education and Workforce Access – Strengthening pathways to higher education and career advancement.
Healthcare Equity – Ensuring culturally competent and accessible healthcare services for all Latinos.
Civic Engagement – Mobilizing Latinos to participate in the political process and shape policy decisions.
“These are not just challenges; they are opportunities for growth and collective action,” said Diane Bocking-Byrd, a Tribal Elder and Board Chair of PODER Action Alliance. “PODER Action Alliance is dedicated to celebrating our successes while continuing to push for policies that allow our communities to thrive.”
A Movement for Progress
PODER Action Alliance is more than an organization—it is a call to action for policymakers, community leaders, and all Oregonians who believe in fairness and opportunity. By leveraging data-driven strategies and culturally inclusive solutions, the Alliance aims to shape policies that uplift Latino families, community members and all Oregonians that create long-term systemic change.
Latinos in Oregon are shaping the state’s future through leadership, innovation, and civic engagement. Whether in rural communities or urban centers, they are business owners, elected officials, professionals, and advocates driving meaningful progress.
The launch of the organization’s new website, www.PoderActionAlliance.com, provides essential resources for business leaders, professionals, and community members to actively participate in advocacy efforts. (PODER AA |Press Release)
